This new reel takes you behind the scenes of a high stakes shot with Federica. The final image in the video is a very long exposure where I attempted a risky light figure by making many passes with the tube behind her.
This technique is a major challenge because of micro movements. When a shot lasts this long it is natural for a subject to move just a fraction of a millimeter. In light painting even a tiny shift can lose the sharpness of the silhouette. Federica was a true professional and stayed completely frozen while I worked the light around her. Because of her focus we managed to capture a complex and multi layered light shape without any blur.
Managing these technical risks is a constant part of my journey with the Sublument project in 2026.
