This reminds me of a woman I saw recently say that the scariest men are the men who lost everything then just turned inward and without ever seeing a shrink or any guidance just rebuilt themselves into someone new.
I don't *think* she meant scary in the predator sense. She described them as being immovable by others because they now know who they are and what they want out of life and they knew that they can continue in that direction with or without anyone else.
I don't fully agree, but my philosophy places high value on quality human connections. Only those who don't bring that quality would be at risk of being placed outside the circle and losing their place.
