I don't think that is not stoic. It's not Zen or Tao but it seems perfectly fine to view things as obstacles in stoicism. Stoicism is more concerned with how your mental state is around obstacles you encounter.
That is my entirely human, flawed, and not an expert understanding of those philosophies. I do have Ryan Holiday on my side on the stoic front which is a pretty solid place to be.
