I never found any common anger management practice that worked. It is just a matter of catching yourself in the moment and reflecting on if that anger served you or hurt you. Bad news is you will need to repeat the process many times over potentially years depending on how engrained the pattern of jumping to anger is. Another angle that helped for me was putting a ton of effort into seeing the other person's perspective and frame. That is necessary to treating the disagreement as a puzzle to be solved instead of a battle to be won.
