It takes so much data dragnetting to tie an IP seen on a Nostr relay to the person who owns or rents it to the nym that AUTH'd on that socket. Which is why outbox is a scam. You care about privacy and then you're forced to connect to random ass untrusted servers just so you don't have to render a Not Found placeholder.

As Jacque Fresco said: β€œThere are no bad people, there are people with insufficient information to make appropriate decisions”. Very nice quote. I agree with it. Lets help those with insufficient information πŸ«‚

Two recent examples - Amethyst continually asks for auth from tons of relays, while Yakihonne continually asks for push notifications. Don't remember what was being asked by 0xchat, but the same issue on first login stopped me from using it - so many requests that it just becomes cognitively draining

ColdCard has an indicator light that lets you know if the firmware running on it doesn't have a matching binary to an official release, but that's the only one I know of for sure. Moreover, that protects you from someone AFTER the manufacturer flashing malicious firmware to your device; it does not protect you from the manufacturer themselves.

Just realized that if I schedule an air reply in #wisp I can seem less passive aggressive than I actually am hehe

In 2007, a man played the violin for 45 minutes in the Washington underground. 1,097 people passed him by. Only seven stopped. He earned $32. That violinist is Joshua Bell. He is playing a $3.5 million Stradivarius. Two days earlier, he had played to a full house at a theatre in Boston. It's a social experiment by the Washington Post. The lesson is simple. Greatness does not announce itself always. Even genius goes unnoticed in the wrong place. Talent matters, but context multiplies it. If you feel ignored, perhaps the problem is not yours capacity. Perhaps it's the stage you're playing on.
